I’m Brook. Outside of school I like to play sports and hang out with friends. I cheer during the school year and then I play softball in the spring. I like to have parties and invite friends to hang out and have a good time. I also like to hang out with my family on the weekend and have fires. My bestfriends is Alexah Fedigan and Abbi Fedigan. I have a sister, her name is Heather. After High School, I want to go to college and start a family. | DNA Replication Project |
The leaf I had was a Red Oak.
It's scientific name is Quercus rubra.
A fungus that infects the tree is Oak Wilt. It consists of leaf discoloration, wilt, defoliation and death.
My tree provides food for deer, bear, squirrels, and more mammals eat acorns, birds also eat them too.
The red oaks are related by having long styles. The acorns mature in 18 months. They are very bitter and inside the acorn is shell woolly.
A couple commercial uses for my tree are furniture, flooring, mill-work, railroad ties and veneer.
The twigs are slender, small, a greenish brown to a dark brown.
This tree is found in the Eastern U.S. Not the south Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plains.

plain water and potato before and after it looked the same.
salt water and potato after, before it was smaller.
Couscous is the food i got to do research on.
1) Couscous comes from London, England.
2) This grain could be served under meat or vegetable stew. It also could be served alone. It comes on a plate with vegetable and chickpees.
3) Couscous is made by rolling and shaping moistened semolina wheat and then coating them with wheat flour. This is an easy thing to cook.
DNA Replication Project
Step 1.
The starting strand of DNA.
Step 2.
The unwinding strands of DNA.
Step 3.
DNA starts forming 2 new strands.
Step 4.
2 new strands of DNA.
Telomeres- A single molecule of DNA connected with a variety of proteins. Okazaki Fragments- A DNA polymerase that can synthesize a piece of complementary strand. DNA Ligase- The DNA that stitches the Okazaki Fragments together. Telomerase- An enzyme that adds a single molecule to repeat the sequences to the end of the DNA strands. Cancer- Arise form somatic cells, the crucial features of a cancer cell form a normal somatic cell is its ability to divide indefinitely. Transplanted Cells- Remove cells from person, put them with a gene because the patient can not synthesize, give them back to the person. Cloning- When you make and organism and make more than one. Aging- when the cell shrinks and cant hold life and dies.
